Personal Hygiene Project Benefits Students

The Cissna Park Education Foundation has made a significant investment in student well-being by funding the installation of personal hygiene stations in school bathrooms and locker rooms. This thoughtful project aims to support student health, confidence, and emotional wellness.

The hygiene stations are stocked with a comprehensive range of essential items designed to meet students’ daily needs. Available products include feminine hygiene products, deodorant, hair ties, hair brushes, toothbrushes and toothpaste, dental flossers, SHOUT stain wipes, lotion, and Chapstick. The variety ensures that students can address personal care needs throughout the school day.

“Since the stations opened, student feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Whitney Zanardelli, Cissna Park School Counselor. “Many students have expressed appreciation for having convenient access to these items at school, eliminating the stress and embarrassment of being unprepared.”

Beyond basic hygiene support, this initiative addresses deeper issues affecting student life. School staff believe the project will help boost self-esteem among students, provide a safe and discreet space for those who need these products, and contribute to a more inclusive school environment. By removing barriers to personal care, the foundation hopes to combat bullying and create a supportive community where all students feel valued and comfortable.

“The Cissna Park Education Foundation’s commitment to student success extends far beyond academics—it reaches into the everyday challenges students face,” said Zanardelli.
