Family and Consumer Sciences classroom received the latest edition of Dave Ramsey’s Foundations in Personal Finances program geared toward High School students. The new curriculum was funded by the Cissna Park Education Foundation. Every senior at Cissna Park High School is required to pass Consumer Economics, and the Dave Ramsey Personal Finance program is a major component of that class. Students learn about saving, budgeting, balancing a checkbook, avoiding debt, and shopping for bargains. The lessons also help prepare for life after high school by teaching about insurance, taxes, college funding and investments. Funding for this project was made possible from a generous gift by Jeff Jacob, a former Cissna Park graduate in memory of Arthur & Elaine Jacob. Additional funds were also donated toward the recent ‘Smart Board’ project.
