Cissna Park Kindergarten Awarded Grant

The students in Mrs. Redeker’s Kindergarten class would like to thank the Cissna Park Education Foundation for their awarded grant. The grant has allowed the Kindergarten class to purchase an updated beginning of the year curriculum for learning and exploring colors. The grant has also allowed the purchase of an updated fine motor learning curriculum to practice and master their alphabet.

The students work to master their colors and reading of color words in the first few weeks of school. The new curriculum provides reading, writing, and crafts to help build their knowledge and mastery of different colors and their ability to recognize color words while reading. A major component of Kindergarten is learning the alphabet. Students learn letter names, letter sounds, and how they work together to become readers and writers.
