New Books for High School English ClassesJune 9, 2023
The Cissna Park Education Foundation has announced that four privately funded scholarships and awards are available for the 2022 graduating class.
The Illinois Grain and Seed Equipment Scholarship is being funded by IGSE of Cissna Park. This $600 scholarship is available to any graduate who is pursuing higher education in the area of agriculture, including but not limited to business, sales, science, marketing, veterinary or mechanical.
The Ristow – Ziegenhorn Scholarship was created to honor the ancestors of these two families who have lived in this community for over a hundred years. This $400 scholarship is available to any graduate pursuing a higher education who demonstrates the ideals of citizenship and character.
The Carl Berg Memorial Scholarship is in honor of this 2010 graduate of Cissna Park High School. In his memory, a scholarship is being presented to a graduate who is continuing their education at a junior college or trade school.
New this year is the Michael Robert Gorman Award in honor of this 2001 graduate of Cissna Park High School. A $1,000 award will be given to a male and a female graduate who best exemplifies the qualities of scholarship, character, and involvement in the community or school.
Application details are available from the High School Guidance Counselor. Applicants must complete the application within the timeline established for each scholarship. The final determination will be based on the specific scholarship weighted requirements.
